Cooking Steps

Cook pasta and broccoli

  • Before starting, preheat the oven to 425°F.
  • Wash and dry all produce.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high.
  • To the boiling water, add fusilli. Cook for 5 min.
  • After fusilli has cooked for 5 min, add broccoli to pot with fusilli. Cook for 3-5 min, stirring occasionally, unitl pasta is tender and broccoli is tender-crisp.
  • Strain fusilli and broccoli, then return to the pot, off heat.
Prep and cook chicken

  • Meanwhile, peel, then cut onion into 1/2-inch pieces. 
  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels. Season with 1/2 tsp (1 tsp) garlic salt and pepper.
  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium. When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) oil and chicken. Pan-fry chicken for 1-2 min per side, until golden.
  • Transfer chicken to a baking sheet. Roast in the middle of the oven for 12-14 min, until chicken is cooked through.**
Start sauce

  • Meanwhile, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter to the same pan, then swirl the pan to melt. Add onions to the same pan. Cook for 2-3 min, scraping any brown bits from the pan until onions soften.
  • Sprinkle over the Cream Sauce Spice Blend. Cook for 30 sec, stirring often, until onions are coated.
Finish sauce

  • Whisk in the stock powder and 3/4 cup (1 1/2 cup) water. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often, until sauce simmers and thickens slightly. 
  • Remove the pan from heat.
  • Whisk in sour cream.
Finish pasta and broccoli

  • To the noodles in pot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter. Stir to coat.
  • Season with 1/4 tsp (1/2 tsp) garlic salt and pepper, then toss to combine.
Finish and serve

  • Thinly slice the chicken.
  • Stir in any remaining juices from the baking sheet into the sauce.
  • Divide the noodles and broccoli between plates.
  • Top with chicken, then sauce.
