Cooking Steps

1
  • Before starting, preheat the broiler to high.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil (use same for 4 servings).
    Wash and dry all produce.
  • To the boiling water, add fusilli. Cook for 8-10 min, until tender but still firm to the bite.
2
  • While pasta boils, cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  • Add broccoli to the pot of water with pasta. Cook for 1-2 min, until broccoli is tender-crisp and fusilli is tender.
  • Reserve 1/4 cup (1/2 cups) pasta water.
  • Strain fusilli and broccoli, then return to the pot, off heat.
3
  • Meanwhile, peel, then cut half the onion into 1/2-inch pieces (whole onion for 4 servings).
  • Peel, then mince or grate garlic.
  • Zest, then cut lemon into wedges.
  • Thinly slice chives.
4
  • Meanwhile, line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Pat basa dry with paper towels, pressing well to absorb as much moisture as possible.
  • Arrange basa on prepared baking sheet. Season with salt, pepper and half the Zesty-Garlic Spice Blend.
  • Broil in the middle of the oven for 6-8 min, until cooked through.**
5
  • Het a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter, then swirl the pan to melt.
  • Add onion. Cook for 2-3 min, stirring often, until softened.
  • Add garlic and remaining Zesty Garlic Spice Blend. Cook for 1 min, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  • Add cream and reserved pasta water. Cook for 2-3 min, stirring occasionally, until thickened slightly.
  • Remove the sauce from heat. Season with salt and pepper.
6
  • Once fish is cooked through, use a spatula to break fish into 1-inch pieces.
  • Pour sauce over fusilli and broccoli in the pot. Add fish, half the chives and lemon zest, then stir to combine.
  • Divide pasta between plates.
  • Sprinkle over remaining chives.
  • Squeeze over a lemon, if desired.
