Cooking Steps

Prep

  • Before starting, wash and dry all produce. 
  • Trim, then half green beans.
  • Quarter mushrooms.
Cook meat and veggies

  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat. 
  • When hot add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter, turkey, onions, and mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 4-6 min, stirring often and breaking up turkey into smaller piece until cooked through.**
Cook rice

  • Add 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil, then rice and thyme (whole stem with leaves). Season with salt and pepper. 
  • Add cream, stock powder and 1 1/4 cups (2 1/2 cups) water. Bring to a boil over high.
  • Reduce heat to med-low. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally until rice is tender, 10-12 min.
  • Add the green beans and 1/4 cup (1/2 cup) water. Cook, stirring often until green beans are tender, 3-4 min.
Finish and serve

  • Carefully remove thyme stems from turkey mixture and discard.
  • Add sour cream. Stir to combine.
  • Divide turkey and rice mixture bewteen plates.
