These tasty treats whip up in no time and are an easy no-bake recipe that even kids can enjoy making! A sprinkle of flaky sea salt emphasizes the delicious flavours of brown butter and toasty corn flakes.

Instructions

Prep cornflakes

  • Open all corn flake packages and transfer to a large bowl.
Brown butter

  • Heat a large pot over medium. When hot, add 4 tbsp butter, then swirl the pan until melted.
  • Continue to cook butter, stirring often, until butter begins to foam, 2-3 min. Continue stirring until butter is golden-brown and smells nutty, 2-3 min. (TIP: Keep an eye on butter so it doesn't burn!)
  • Reduce heat to medium-low, then add 1 tbsp milk, 1/4 tsp salt and marshmallows. 
Melt marshmallows

  • Stir constantly, using a spatula, until marshmallows have just melted and mixture is smooth, 3-4 min.
  • Stir in corn flakes until combined. 
Finish and serve

  • Using a greased spatula, transfer corn flake mixture to the prepared baking dish, then gently press mixture until it forms an even layer. (TIP: Don't over-pack corn flake mixture into the pan or squares will become overly chewy and dense!)
  • Sprinkle as much flaky salt over top as desired.
  • Allow bars to cool for 30 minutes before removing from the dish by tugging on the parchment paper. 
  • Cut into desired number of slices.
