Cooking Steps

  • Before starting, preheat the ovent to 350F.
  • Grease an 8x8-inch metal baking tin.
  • Line the base and sides of the tin with parchment paper, pressing down to adhere. (NOTE: Leave a 2-inch overhang on the sides of the tin. This helps to easily remove blondies once cooled.)

  • Melt butter in the microwave or in a small pot over medium.
  • Remove from heat and transfer butter to a large bowl. Add brown sugar and 4 tbsp maple syrup, then whisk to combine. Add egg, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking powder and whisk again to combine.
  • Add flour and stir with a spatula until combined. 
  • Add pecan and stir with a spatula until combined.

  • Add brownie batter to the base of the pan and spread evenly using the back of a spoon or spatula.
  • Bake for 20-25 min,  in the middle of the oven until golden-brown and puffed in the center and a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. .

  • Once brownies are cooked, transfer pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • While cooking, in a small pot melt white chocolate chips over medium-low for 2-3 min, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and glossy. (TIP: You can also melt chocolate in the microwave if you prefer!)
  • Whisk in remaining maple syrup. 
  • Spread over white chocolate maple glaze. 
  • Sprinkle over some salt, if desired.
  • Slice blondies into squares.
