Cooking Steps

Make crostini
1
  • Slice baguette crosswise into 1/4-inch slices.
  • On an unlined baking sheet, arrange baguette slices. Drizzle 1 1/2 tbsp oil over top. Season with salt and pepper, then toss to coat.
  • Broil baguette slices in the middle of the oven for 2-4 min, until golden and crisp. (TIP: Keep an eye on them so they don't burn!)
Prep
2
  • Halve each piece of prosciutto lengthwise. (TIP: Use kitchen shears to make this easier!)
  • Core, then cut apple into 1/4-inch slices.
  • Peel, then separate clementine into segments.
  • Remove cheddar and Boursin from packaging.
Make chocolate-dipped fruit
3
  • On a large parchment-lined baking sheet, arrange half the fruit pieces.
  • To a small microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate chips and 2 tsp oil. Microwave in 20-sec increments, stirring after each, until chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  • Dip the ends of fruit pieces one by one into the chocolate mixture, then replace on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  • Transfer baking sheet to the freezer for 3-4 min, until chocolate is firm.
Finish and serve
4
  • Place cheddar on one corner of a large platter or board. Cut a couple of thin slices.
  • Place Boursin and brie on the opposite corner.
  • Pile prosciutto in the centre. Arrange half the salami and half the chorizo in a slightly overlapping layer next to cheddar. Repeat with remaining salami and remaining chorizo next to Boursin. (TIP: We like to layer in an arc shape.)
  • Fill remaining gaps on the board with fruit.

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavor: The old cheddar was great, and many enjoyed the variety. Some found the Boursin just okay and suggested adding a fig spread or jelly.
  • Ease of prep: Quick and easy to put together, making it great for gatherings like Bible study groups or date nights.
  • Suggestions: Consider skipping the salt on chocolate-dipped fruit. Add extra fruit for a better selection.
  • Portions: Some found the quantities, especially of charcuterie, insufficient for their needs.
