Cooking Steps

  • Add cavatappi to the boiling water. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until tender, 8-9 min. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain and return cavatappi to the same pot, off heat.
  • Meanwhile, peel, then cut shallot into 1/2-inch pieces.

  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium heat. When hot, add 2 tbsp butter, then swirl until melted.
  • Add peas and shallots, then cook, stirring often, until shallots soften, 4-5 min.
  • Sprinkle cream sauce spice blend over top. Cook, stirring often, until toasted, 1 min.
  • Slowly whisk in cream, pasta water and cream cheese. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium. Cook, whisking often, until sauce thickens slightly, 1-2 min.

  • Remove from the heat and stir in half the parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add parmesan cream sauce to the pot with the cavatappi, then stir to combine.

  • Divide cavatappi noodles between bowls. 
  • Sprinkle remaining parmesan over top.
