Review summary

Updated on Aug 2026
  • Flavour: The curry sauce is rich and fragrant, with bold spice that many reviewers loved; some found the heat overpowering and suggest using half the curry paste for a milder result.
  • Ease of prep: Most reviewers found this dish quick and straightforward to pull together on a weeknight.
  • Suggestions: Add a pinch of sugar to balance acidity and tame the heat, as the recipe itself recommends; some reviewers also added extra vegetables like bell pepper, spinach, or chickpeas to bulk out the dish.
  • Leftovers: This dish keeps well for next-day lunches, though a few reviewers noted the spice level intensifies overnight.
  • Sides: Many reviewers preferred rice — jasmine, basmati, or short-grain — over couscous, finding it a better match for the curry sauce; a few successfully swapped in quinoa or cauliflower rice.
