Cooking Steps

Cook rice and edamame

  • Before starting, wash and dry all produce.
  • Massage the pouch of rice to separate grains.
  • Heat rice in the microwave for 2 min, as indicated on the back of the package. (NOTE: If you don’t have a microwave, stir-fry rice in a hot non-stick pan with a splash of water for 3 min, until heated through.)
  • Meanwhile, in a large non-stick pan, add 1/4 cup (1/3 cup) water, edamame and 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 min, stirring often, until edamame is tender. 
  • Remove from heat.
  • In a large heat-proof bowl, combine rice and edamame. Set aside, covered to keep warm.
Cook Impossible® Burger Patties

  • Meanwhile, heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high.
  • While the pan heats, thinly slice green onion.
  • When hot, add 1 tsp (2 tsp) oil, then Impossible® Burger Patties. Cook for 5-6 min, breaking up patties into smaller pieces, until crispy.** 
  • Add broth concentrate, half the vinegar, 1 1/2 tbsp (3 tbsp) ginger sauce and 2 tbsp (1/4 cup) water. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often, until sauce thickens slightly.
Make slaw

  • To a medium bowl, add coleslaw cabbage mix, half the green onions, remaining vinegar and 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) ginger sauce. Season with salt and pepper, then toss to coat.
Finish and serve

  • Fluff rice with a fork, then stir in half the sesame seeds.
  • Divide rice between bowls. Top with Impossible® Burger Patties mixture and slaw.
  • Drizzle spicy mayo over top.
  • Sprinkle remaining green onions and remaining sesame seeds over top.

If you've opted to get Impossible® Burger Patties, when the pan is hot, add 1 tsp (2 tsp) oil, then Impossible® Burger Patties. Cook for 5-6 min, in the same way as the beef, breaking up patties into smaller pieces, until crispy.** Disregard instructions to drain excess fat.
