Cooking Steps

Prep and make biscuit batter

  • Before starting, preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  • To a large bowl, add Breakfast Baking Mix and 1/2 tsp (1 tsp) garlic salt. Season with 1/4 tsp (1/2 tsp) pepper, then whisk to combine.
  • To a small bowl, add sour cream, eggs and 7 tbsp (14 tbsp) milk, then whisk to combine.

  • Add milk mixture to the bowl with dry ingredients, then stir until just combined. 
  • Add cheese, then stir gently to incorporate.
Make topping and prep baking sheet

  • To a small bowl, add black and white sesame seeds, then toss to combine.
  • Double-line a baking sheet with parchment paper. (NOTE: For 12 servings, use 2 baking sheets)
  • Using two spoons, dollop batter into 9 (18) equal-sized biscuits onto the prepared baking sheet. 
Bake biscuits

  • Brush tops with 1/4 cup of the remaining milk, then sprinkle with sesame seed topping. Sprinkle remaining garlic salt over top.
  • Bake in the middle of the oven for 12-14 min, until golden and a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. (NOTE: For 12 servings, bake in the top and the middle of the oven, rotating sheets halfway through.)

  • Allow biscuits to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a seving dish. (TIP: Biscuits are best served warm with a pat of butter on top!)
