Cooking Steps

Cook pasta and peas

  • Before starting, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil (use same for 4 servings). 
  • Wash and dry all produce. 
  • To the boiling water, add cavatappi and peas. Cook uncovered for 8-9 min, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  • Reserve 1/4 cup (1/2 cup) pasta water. Strain cavatappi, then return to the pot, off heat.

  • Meanwhile, peel, then halve carrot lengthwise. Cut into 1/8-inch thick half moons.
Cook Plant-based Patties

  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high. When the pan is hot, add 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil, then Plant-based Patties and carrots. Cook for 5-6 min, breaking up patties into smaller pieces, until crispy.** Season with salt and pepper. 
  • Sprinkle Cream Sauce Spice Blend over top. Stir to coat.
Make sauce

  • To the pan, add reserved pasta water, broth concentrate, cream cheese, cream and half the cheddar. Cook for 2-4 min, stirring often, until cheeses are melted and sauce has slightly thickened.
  • Season with salt and pepper. 
Finish and serve

  • To the pot of cavatappi and peas, pour sauce mixture. Stir to combine. 
  • Divide pasta between bowls. 
  • Sprinkle remaining cheddar over top.
