Cooking Steps

Cook sausage
1
  • Before starting, wash and dry all produce.
  • Heat a large pot over medium-high. When hot, add 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil, then sausage. Cook for 4-5 min, breaking up sausage into smaller pieces, until no pink remains.** Season with salt and pepper.
  • Sprinkle over Cream Sauce Spice Blend. Cook for 30 sec, stirring occasionally, until mixture coats sausage.
Cook penne
2
  • To same the pot, add cream cheese, stock powder and 2 1/2 cups (4 1/2 cups) water.
  • Stir to combine. Bring to a boil over high.
  • Once boiling, add penne and reduce heat to medium.
  • Simmer uncovered for 12-14 min, stirring often to prevent sticking to the pot, until penne is al dente. (TIP: If pasta sticks too much, add more water, 1/4 cup at a time.)
Cook broccoli
3
  • Meanwhile, cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces.
  • Once penne is cooked, add broccoli and cream to the pot. Cook for 2-4 min, stirring occasionally, until tender.
Finish sauce
4
  • Remove pot from heat, then add cheese.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Stir for 1 min, until cheese melts.
Finish and serve
5
  • Divide between bowls.
  • Sprinkle crispy shallots over top.
