Cooking Steps

Boil noodles

  • Before starting, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high (use same for 4 servings). Wash and dry all produce.
  • To the boiling water, add rice noodles. Cook for 10-12 min, stirring occasionally, until tender but still slightly chewy to the bite.
  • Drain rice noodles and rinse under warm water until slightly cool. Return to the pot, then toss with 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil.

  • Meanwhile, peel, then grate carrot.
  • Peel, halve, then cut onion into 1/4-inch slices.
  • Peel, then mince or grate garlic.
  • In a medium bowl, combine beef broth concentrate, hoisin, soy sauce, half the Asian Sesame Blend and 1/4 cup (1/2 cup) water. (NOTE: This is your stir-fry sauce!)
Cook veggies and beef

  • In a large non-stick pan, heat 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil over medium-high.
  • When the pan is hot, add beef, onions and garlic. Cook for 3-5 min, breaking up beef into smaller pieces, until no pink remains.**
  • Add cabbage, carrots and remaining Asian Sesame Blend. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often, until beginning to soften.
Cook sauce

  • To the same pan, add prepared stir-fry sauce (from step 2). Cook for 1 min, stirring often, until sauce thickens and veggies are tender. Season with salt and pepper.
Flavour noodles

  • To the pot with rice noodles, add beef-veggie mixture and half the sesame oil (use all for 4 servings). Toss to coat. Season with salt and pepper.
Finish and serve

  • Divide noodles between bowls.
