Cooking Steps

Prep
1
  • Before starting, wash and dry all produce.
  • Peel, then cut carrot into 1/8-inch rounds.
  • Cut any large. broccoli florets into bite-sized pieces.
  • Peel, then mince or grate garlic.
  • To a medium bowl, add brown sugar, garlic, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce and broth concentrate. Stir to combine. (NOTE: This is your sauce mixture.)
Prep beef
2
  • To a large bowl, add beef, Moo Shu Spice Blend, cornstarch and 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) of the sauce mixture. Stir to combine. Set aside.
  • To remaining sauce mixture in the bowl, add 1/2 cup (3/4 cup) water. Whisk to combine.
Cook veggies
3
  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high.
  • When hot, add 1/2 tbsp (1 tbsp) oil, broccoli, carrots and 1/2 cup water (use the same for 4 servings). Cook for 3-5 min, stirring often, until veggies are tender-crisp and liquid has evaporated.
  • Add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often, until butter melts.
  • Transfer veggies to a bowl and cover to keep warm.
  • Wipe out the pan.
Cook beef
4
  • Reheat the pan over medium-high.
  • When hot, add beef mixtrure to the dry pan.
  • Using the back of a spoon or spatula, flatten beef mixture until 1/2-inch thick. (NOTE: It's okay if mixture breaks apart slightly.) Fry for 3-4 min, without stirring, until lightly crisp and golden.
  • Using a spatula, flip beef in large sections. Cook 2-3 min, breaking up meat into bite-sized crumbles, until cooked through.**
Warm rice
5
  • While beef cooks, snip off one corner of the rice package.
  • Heat rice in the microwave for 1-2 min until hot. (NOTE: If you don’t have a microwave, stir-fry rice in a hot non-stick pan with a splash of water for 3 min, until heated through.)
Finish beef and serve
6
  • Drain and discard excess fat from beef.
  • To the pan of beef, add sauce mixture. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often, until sauce is simmering and thickened slightly.
  • Divide rice between bowls.
  • Top with veggies and beef.
  • Sprinkle crispy shallots over top.
