Utensils

Large Non-Stick Pan
Medium Bowl

Cooking Steps

1
  • Before starting, wash and dry all produce.
  • In a large non-stick pan, heat half Garlic Spread over medium-high heat. Swirl the pan to melt.
  • When the pan is hot, add the gnocchi. Cook, turning them often, 7-8 min, until golden-brown. (TIP: Don't overcrowd the pan; cook gnocchi in 2 batches for 4 servings, dividing Garlic Spread per batch.)
  • Transfer to a medium bowl and set aside.
2
  • Meanwhile, halve, then peel shallot. Cut into 1/4-inch pieces.
  • Peel, then mince or grate garlic.
  • Roughly chop spinach.
  • Prick tomatoes with a fork.
3
  • Add tomatoes to dry pan. Cook for 2-3 mins, until blistered. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer to a plate.
4
  • Add remaining Garlic Spread to the same pan, then swirl the pan to melt.  Add shallots and garlic. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often, until softened and fragrant.
  • Add crushed tomatoes. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring occasionally, until thickened slightly.
  • Add cream, tomatoes and any liquid from the bowl. Cook for 1-2 min, stirring often, until combined. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Remove the pan from heat.
5
  • Add gnocchi and spainch to pan with sauce. Stir for 1-2 min, until spinch is wilted and gnocchi is coated.
  • Divide gnocci between bowls.
  • Sprinkle over Parm.
  • Sprinkle over chili flakes, if desired.
