Cooking Steps

Cook rice
1
  • Before starting, wash and dry all produce.
  • Peel, then mince or grate garlic.
  • To a medium pot, add 1 1/4 cups (2 1/2 cups) water, 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter, garlic and half the garlic salt. Cover and bring to a boil over high.
  • Using a strainer, rinse rice until water runs clear.
  • To the boiling water, add rice, then reduce heat to low. Cover and cook for 13-15 min, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Remove from heat. Set aside, still covered.
Prep
2
  • Meanwhile, thinly slice green onion, keeping white and green parts separate.
  • Trim, then halve snow peas.
  • Core, then cut pepper into 1/2-inch pieces.
  • Pat turkey dry with paper towels. On another cutting board, cut into 1-inch pieces. Season with remaining garlic salt and pepper.
Toast sesame seeds
3
  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium.
  • When hot, add sesame seeds to the dry pan. Toast for 2-3 min, stirring often, until golden. (TIP: Keep your eye on them so they don't burn!)
  • Transfer to a plate.
Cook veggies
4
  • Reheat the same pan (from step 3) over medium-high.
  • When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) oil, then peppers and snow peas. Cook for 3-4 min, stirring occasionally, until tender.
  • Add green onion whites. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 1 min, stirring often, until fragrant.
  • Transfer veggies to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  • Carefully wipe the pan clean.
Cook turkey
5
  • Reheat the same pan over medium.
  • When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) oil, then turkey. Cook for 3-4 min per side, until golden and cooked through.**
  • Remove pan from heat.
  • Add half the soy sauce (use all for 4 servings), sesame oil, 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter, seasoned vinegar and honey. Cook for 1 min, stirring often, until glazed and coated.
Finish and serve
6
  • Divide rice, turkey and veggies between plates.
  • Drizzle remaining glaze over turkey.
  • Sprinkle remaining green onions over rice.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over turkey and veggies.
