Cooking Steps

  • Before starting, preheat the oven to 450°F.
  • Wash and dry all produce.
  • Pick and roughly chop basil.
  • Halve tomatoes.

  • Pat steaks dry with paper towels, then season with half the Montreal Spice Blend.
  • Heat a large non-stick pan over medium-high. When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) oil, then steaks. Cook 1-2 per side, until browned.
  • Remove from heat and transfer steaks to an unlined baking sheet. Roast in the middle of the oven 5-8 min or until cooked to desired doneness.** 
  • When steaks are done, remove from heat and transfer to a plate. Loosely cover with foil and set aside to rest for 2-3 min.

  • Wipe pan clean with paper towel.
  • Heat large-non-stick pan over medium-high heat. When hot, add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) oil, then tomatoes. Cook 1-2 min, stirring occasionally. 
  • Add kale and cook 2-3 min, stirring occasionally.
  • Add 1 tbsp (2 tbsp) butter, remaining Montreal Spice blend, balsamic glaze, basil and 2 tbsp (4 tbsp) water. Stir to combine, cook for 1-2 mins. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Microwave mash potatoes, 3-4 mins and mix with parmesan. (better instructions to come) just put in a bowl uncovered.

  • Thinly slice steak
  • Divide mash potatoes between plates and snip chives on top.
  • Divide steaks between plates.
  • Divide balsamic veggies between plates.
  • Spoon remaining sauce from pan over steak.
