Cooking Steps

Prep chicken
1
  • Prepare a large foil-lined baking sheet, then brush with 2 tsp oil or cooking spray.
  • Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels.
  • Add half the chicken wings, BBQ Seasoning, half the baking powder and 1/4 tsp pepper to a large bowl. Season with salt, then toss to coat.
  • Add remaining chicken wings, remaining baking powder and Lemon-Pepper Seasoning to another large bowl. Season with salt, then toss to coat.
  • Arrange chicken wings on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake wings and finish prep
2
  • Bake chicken wings the middle of the oven, until chicken is cooked through, 12-15 min.**
  • Remove wings from the oven and set oven to broil.
  • Flip wings, then broil in the top of the oven until wings are crispy and golden-brown, 2-3 min.
  • Meanwhile, peel, then halve carrot lengthwise. Halve carrot again to create 1/2-inch sticks.
  • Halve cucumbers lengthwise, then halve again to create 1/2-inch spears.
  • Thinly slice chives.
Make sauces
3
  • Add sour cream, mayo, 1/2 tsp sugar, chives and half the vinegar to a small serving bowl. Season with salt and pepper, then stir to combine.
  • Add hot sauce, 2 tbsp butter, remaining vinegar, brown sugar and a pinch of salt to a small pot over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted and sauce comes to a simmer, 3-4 min. Remove from the heat and transfer to another serving bowl.
Finish and serve
4
  • Place ranch on one corner of a large platter or board. Place Buffalo sauce on the opposite corner.
  • Fill in the remaining space on the board with chicken wings, carrots and cucumbers.

Customer reviews

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavor: Many enjoyed the lemon pepper seasoning, while some found the applewood flavor less appealing. The chive ranch dip was a hit.
  • Ease of prep: Wings were easy to cook and came out tender with a nice crunch. Using baking powder helped achieve crispy results.
  • Suggestions: Consider coating the wings in sauce for more flavor. Adjust spice levels to taste; some found the hot sauce mild.
  • Portions: Several reviewers noted the portion size was smaller than expected, potentially not enough for four people as advertised.
